The night shift operates from 8.30pm – 6.00am Monday – Friday at our main Derby Road campus, Mansfield, NG18 5BH. One role has an asap start, the second will commence in August 2026.

1. The Appointment

To support the college’s commitment to high standards of cleanliness and presentation, we are looking to recruit a reliable night-time cleaner. Working as part of a small, dedicated night shift team, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.

Your role will be to provide a quality cleaning service; that ensures the college environment remains clean, and well-presented at all times.

The night shift operates from 8:30pm to 6:00am, Monday to Friday, based at our main Derby Road campus. This role follows the college’s term-time working pattern, with 45 hours per week during term time.

This is a hands-on, physical role that requires a proactive approach and a strong attention to detail. You will be responsible for cleaning a range of areas, including floors, walls, surfaces, furniture, fittings, toilets, and spillages, ensuring all tasks are completed to a high standard within agreed timeframes. The role involves the safe use of cleaning chemicals and machinery, and on occasion, the handling of clinical waste, always in line with established health and safety procedures.

The role will require you to embed the college’s values; Respect, Integrity, Collaboration, Compassion and Ambition.

2. The Post

a) To show attention to detail and work pro-actively to carry out tasks, whether these are allocated to you, or present themselves to you.

b) To ensure all rooms, facilities and public areas within your designated area are clean, tidy and present and maintain a high quality image to visitors and customers.

c) To clean all various floor surfaces by a combination of methods, sweeping, vacuuming, buffing, mopping or operating floor cleaning machinery , whilst working in a safe effective manner.

d) To follow all COSHH Regulations and safety data instructions with the use of all chemicals and ensure the correct use and storage of chemicals.

e) To clean toilets and washrooms using the colour coded equipment to the required high standard. Ensure that supplies of toilet paper, soap, paper towels are stocked in toilets and washrooms.

f) To use powered equipment where necessary scrubbing machines, rotary wash machine,, vacuum cleaners to remove all ground in dirt, grease and other deposits (training will be provided).

g) Carry out basic safety checks of all electrical equipment before use and ensure that vacuum bags are emptied and equipment is left clean and ready for the next user.

h) To clean wash and sanitise all surfaces as required.

i) To be willing to train in First Aid if appropriate

j) To complete required documentation, cleaning logs, including time sheets, attendance records etc.
