We are seeking a proactive and dedicated Community and Student Support Officer to help create a safe, inclusive, and positive environment across our college campus and surrounding community. This is a highly visible and engaging role, focused on supporting student wellbeing, promoting positive behaviour, and strengthening relationships between the college and the local community.
The role is a fixed term position (term-time only), until the end of the current academic year and will involve regular movement across the campus, including outdoor patrols, as well as occasional evening and weekend working to support college events. You will also engage with external community stakeholders on an ongoing basis, helping to build strong partnerships and enhance the student experience both within and beyond the college.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols across the college campus to monitor student behaviour and promote a safe, respectful environment
- Act as a visible and approachable presence, offering guidance, reassurance, and support to students and staff
- Build and maintain positive relationships with local businesses, community members, and external stakeholders
- Observe, record, and report incidents of misconduct or safety concerns in line with college policies
- Support initiatives that enhance student engagement, safety, and wellbeing
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, including Student Services, Security, and Pastoral staff, to address and resolve concerns
- Attend relevant training and professional development, particularly in safeguarding and student support
