We are excited to invite applications for the position of Lecturer in Art at Cadbury College. This is a part-time, permanent opportunity for an enthusiastic and skilled educator to inspire and engage students in the field of art and design.
As a Lecturer in Art, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, dynamic lessons in a range of art disciplines, including practical and theoretical components. You will engage students, helping them to develop their creative skills and gain the confidence they need to succeed both in their studies and future careers.
This role provides the opportunity to teach within a vibrant and supportive department while contributing to the continuous development of the curriculum. You will be working with learners at various levels, ensuring that their potential is maximised through outstanding teaching and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons in Art & Design, including practical and theoretical components
- Prepare and assess student work, offering constructive feedback to support development
- Develop and implement innovative teaching materials and learning resources
- Monitor and track student progress, providing guidance and support as needed
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Art curriculum
- Promote the creative development of students and encourage their active participation
- Provide pastoral support and act as a personal tutor for students
- Attend departmental meetings, training, and professional development sessions
- Participate in the wider college community, including open days, exhibitions, and other events
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Essential
- A degree or equivalent in Art & Design or a related subject
- Proven experience of teaching Art at post-16 level
- Strong knowledge of art techniques, materials, and contemporary practices
- Ability to create engaging lessons and resources that inspire students
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A passion for art and a commitment to supporting students' creative development
- Ability to assess student work and provide constructive feedback
Desirable
- Experience working in a further education setting
- Familiarity with curriculum development and innovative teaching practices
- Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent)
