We are pleased to be recruiting a reliable and proactive Building Services Support Caretaker to join our Estates & Facilities team at Cadbury College, Kings Norton.
Reporting to the Estates Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the college is safe, secure, clean and fully operational. You will be responsible for opening and closing the college at agreed times, supporting site security, carrying out minor repairs and maintenance tasks, and responding to out-of-hours alarm activations.

Responsibilities
- Open and close the college site at agreed times
- Assist with caretaking, security, cleaning and basic grounds maintenance
- Carry out regular site inspections to identify building defects and support repair follow-up
- Undertake minor repairs to buildings, equipment, furniture and fittings
- Support the maintenance of heating systems and emergency equipment records
- Assist with porterage duties, receipt of goods and safe relocation of furniture
- Maintain accurate records of work undertaken, including security incidents
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, security and safeguarding procedures
- Support enrolment events, open evenings and other college activities as required
- Work flexibly across multiple sites when required
- Undertake relevant training including manual handling and first aid
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/Level 2 or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a similar caretaking, estates or facilities role
- Experience working within an education environment (desirable)
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Good communication skills and a professional approach
- Ability to work flexibly, including shift patterns and evening duties
- Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle
- High levels of integrity, discretion and professionalism
- Resilient and calm under pressure
