Here at Bournemouth & Poole College, we are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Lecturer in Science to join our dynamic Science, Health & Humanities Directorate. As a Lecturer in Science, you will:

Deliver high‑quality, engaging and inclusive teaching across Level 2 and Level 3 Science programmes, as well as Access to HE Science & Health Professions pathways
Develop learning materials aligned to awarding‑body requirements (OCR, Pearson, CAVA)
Provide academic and pastoral support as a Personal Tutor
Offer constructive, meaningful feedback that helps students progress and succeed
Support learners with work placements, work‑related activities and enrichment
Contribute to curriculum design, development and continuous quality improvement
Participate in open evenings, school liaison, employer engagement and wider College events.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

Qualified to degree level (or higher) in a Science discipline such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Biomedical Science
Experienced in the science industry and/or successful teaching practice
Skilled at communicating with diverse groups of learners
Creative, adaptable and passionate about helping young people thrive
Digitally confident, with experience using VLEs and Microsoft Office
Knowledgeable about current teaching and learning strategies
Committed to safeguarding, inclusivity and delivering high‑quality learning
A teaching qualification (Level 5 or higher) is desirable, but we welcome applicants willing to work towards it
