Pathways to Work Employment Coach

We are thrilled to share an exciting opportunity for Pathways to Work Employment Coaches’ to join our Employment Services Agency as part of the new Pathways to Work programme.

We are looking for someone who is committed to making a meaningful impact in people’s lives and has a strong understanding of the Principles of Personalised Care and the practices of supported employment. We have secured funding to provide support for people that are economically inactive due to ill health and/or caring responsibilities, and for young adults (aged 18-24) at risk of not entering the labour market.

Our Pathways to Work Employment Coaches’ play a vital role by providing one-on-one coaching, promoting self-management strategies, signposting to relevant services, liaising with businesses. They will also explore appropriate interventions to support individuals’ employment and wellbeing goals through utilisation of the participant spend budget.

Pathways to Work is a new programme designed to tackle high rates of economic inactivity and boost employment. The programme aims to help people find, stay in, or return to work, with specific support available for those with health conditions.

The role of the Pathways to Work Employment Coaches’ will be to work internally with targeted individuals to identify individuals at risk of dropping out of education and/or having no clear progression path once their programme of learning is completed.

Participants will be supported into positive progression which will include, employment, apprenticeships, a job through BOOST, paid work or further education and training.

As well as working with participants, Coaches will also collaborate with local employers and JCP to identify suitable job vacancies. Supporting participants to apply for, prepare for interviews and secure employment.

You will provide bespoke one-to-one employment support, advice and guidance to young people aged 16–25 who are not in education, employment, or training (NEET), or who are economically inactive.

Your focus will be on helping participants remove barriers, build confidence, and progress into sustainable employment or education opportunities.

Create and maintain links to employers to create vacancies and opportunities for participants.

Main Responsibilities:

Attract, recruit and retain clients into the programme.

Support participants to access training, work placements, or employment opportunities.

Find work that matches their skills and interests.

Support with building confidence, self-esteem, motivation and learning essential employability skills to prepare for paid work.

Explore and understand progression opportunities and provide 1-to-1 job search support.

Improve wellbeing and resilience.

Identify personal goals and aspirations.

Provide support with CV writing, job applications, and interview preparation.

Access to training and courses, including digital skills support.

Deliver tailored 1:1 employability and wellbeing support to young people aged 16–25.

Develop personalised action plans to help each participant achieve their goals.

Build positive relationships with hard-to-reach individuals, inspiring trust and motivation.

Maintain accurate records of client progress using online platforms and MIS systems.

Work to meet performance and outcome targets set by the contract.

Support the individual at their pace with valuable in work support and help to access local resources to improve their wellbeing and re-enter the workforce.

Develop a personalised action plan to address individual barriers.

What we can offer you

As the successful candidate, you will be offered a salary of between £33,160 - £37,283 per annum based upon a combination of the skills, knowledge and experience that you can bring to the role.
