As our Quality Improvement Manager for Apprenticeships and T Level Provision, you will be at the forefront of shaping, enhancing, and championing the quality of two of our most important technical education pathways. Working closely with curriculum teams, employers, and support services, you will ensure that our students whether on an Apprenticeship or a T Level receive exceptional teaching, learning, assessment and industry experiences.You will lead on monitoring, evaluating, and driving continuous improvement across both Apprenticeship and T Level programmes, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements and the high expectations of our students, employers, and external partners.At Nottingham College, you will have the freedom to work in a way that suits you, the support to thrive, and the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the future workforce. Who We Need

This is an exciting opportunity for a committed and experienced Quality Improvement Manager to lead quality assurance and improvement across Apprenticeships and T Level provision.

You will ensure robust internal quality processes, high-quality teaching, learning and assessment (TLA), and strong industry placement standards across both areas. You will act as a liaison with awarding bodies, EPAOs, and other external partners, oversee assessment and quality assurance activities, and promote evidence‑based approaches to improve and challenge curriculum quality.

Challenges

Meeting diverse employer and industry needs:

Both Apprenticeships and T Levels require close collaboration with a wide range of employers and sectors. Balancing their expectations while maintaining consistent quality can be complex.

Engaging and influencing staff and stakeholders:

Motivating teaching staff, trainers, assessors, and placement partners to adopt quality improvement measures requires strong leadership, emotional intelligence, and clear communication.

Navigating regulatory frameworks:

Compliance with Ofsted, ESFA, IfATE, awarding bodies and T Level-specific requirements demands meticulous attention to detail.

Managing assessment and malpractice processes:

Investigating and managing alleged malpractice with sensitivity, fairness, and rigour.

Keeping ahead of innovations:

Staying up to date with emerging technology and AI to enhance quality assurance and delivery practices.

Responsibilities

Leading targeted quality improvement interventions for Apprenticeship and T Level provision, producing high‑quality outcome reports
Reviewing and evaluating teaching, learning, assessment and industry placement quality in line with inspection and regulatory frameworks
Investigating alleged malpractice relating to assessment, standards, or compliance
Ensuring effective assessment, internal quality assurance, and standardisation processes are in place across both provision types
Leading moderation and standardisation activities, providing clear developmental feedback
Supporting curriculum teams to use evidence-based approaches to strengthen planning, delivery and learner experience
Acting as an effective link with awarding organisations, EPAOs, and other regulatory bodies
Contributing to strategic quality planning and continuous improvement initiatives

What You will bring

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving quality improvements and leading internal quality assurance in further education settings, with substantial experience in either Apprenticeships, T Levels, or both.You will bring:

A proven ability to lead and implement effective quality improvement initiatives, using robust processes and a supportive, developmental approach.
Leadership experience in targeted improvement planning, preferably across Apprenticeship and/or T Level provision.
Teaching, training or quality assurance experience in FE or HE, with a record of securing good outcomes for learners.
Substantial experience in internal quality assurance, ensuring compliance, integrity, and continuous improvement in delivery and assessment.
Strong stakeholder collaboration skills, working effectively with awarding bodies, employers, and curriculum teams to ensure outstanding provision.
