About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, experienced and knowledgeable Business Tutor to deliver engaging and inspiring lessons to learners on our Level 2 Sales and Marketing and Level 3 Business programmes. As a Business Tutor, you will play a key role in delivering a curriculum that is current, career-focused, and aligned with industry needs.
You’ll be responsible for teaching a range of business topics including marketing, finance, enterprise, human resources project management, business administration, and professional communication as well as additional delivery such as group tutorials, one to one tutorials and Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people, helping them to develop the confidence and expertise needed to succeed in today’s business world.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing internal planning documentation such as curriculum design plans and SOW and for IQA/EQA
- Using a range of systems to monitor student progress, identifying any students at risk, and formulating intervention plans to secure achievement.
- Liaising with staff on Business programmes across TEC Partnership to ensure a cohesive approach to teaching, learning, and assessment
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that motivates learners.
- Organising meetings with parents, NOK, or other stakeholders as necessary
- Take part in Open Events, Taster Days etc to support recruitment.
- Increase employer engagement within the area for curriculum co-design and work experience opportunities.
- Plan and take part in enrichment opportunities such as trips and visits.
- Safeguarding and pastoral responsibilities
- Commitment to and promotion of Maths and English skills
About the person
The successful candidate will ideally have previous knowledge of teaching Business to Level 3 to ensure suitable delivery of our qualifications. You will assist in developing employer confidence and work alongside local and regional external stakeholders to ensure the development of work ready skills alongside theoretical knowledge and positive behaviours.
You will have excellent communication and people skills as well as strong organisation and administrative skills.
For this role you will preferably hold a full teaching qualification (CertEd or PGCE) and will have some public services sector experience.
Maths and English qualifications at Grade 4 or C (or equivalent) are essential.
