What you'll do

As an Apprentice People Services Assistant, you’ll be a key part of our friendly and supportive People Services Team, helping to deliver a smooth and professional HR service to all colleagues across the College. Working closely with the Payroll Team, you’ll help ensure a seamless experience throughout the entire employee lifecycle — from new starters to leavers and everything in between.

You’ll gain hands-on experience while progressing toward your HR CIPD qualification, with one dedicated study day per week. Following completion of the qualification, you will progress to a Band 4 People Services Assistant.

Your day-to-day will include:

Assisting colleagues and managers with a wide range of general HR queries
Supporting key HR processes by preparing documentation for new starters, leavers, and contract changes — including letters and contracts
Maintaining accurate employee records and keeping the College’s HR system up to date

Organised and detail-oriented – you take pride in getting the small things right and can manage multiple tasks effectively.
A great communicator – you're confident speaking with colleagues at all levels and can write clearly and professionally.
Discreet and trustworthy – you understand the importance of handling sensitive information with care.
A team player – you enjoy working with others and supporting a shared goal.
No prior HR experience is needed, however, previous administration experience is desirable.
