We are looking for a passionate Health & Science Lecturer to join our Early Years, Education & Social Care Team.

The successful applicant will help to transform the lives of our students by teaching across our Health & Science qualifications, predominantly at Level 3 and to lead and develop our T-Level provision.

This is a part-time role, working 17.5 hours per week.

Responsibilities include:

To teach courses specified by the Departmental Leadership Team.
To assess the work and progress of all students and provide them with constructive and timely feedback.
To seek ways of improving student performance by reflecting on teaching design and delivery, and obtaining and analysing feedback.
To develop and apply innovative approaches to improving the learning environment, teaching and/or assessment and feedback methods
Engage in professional development concerning teaching, learning and assessment, including the use of an evidence-informed approach, which utilises the outcomes of scholarship to enhance teaching practice.
To participate actively in curriculum development, and, where appropriate, in cross-college marketing activities.
To participate actively in the enrolment, induction, monitoring, profiling and initial assessment of students or trainees.
To devise individual learning plans and provide support for learners in line with the requirements of the course.
To be responsible to the Head of Department for student discipline, counselling and guidance for all assigned classes.
To be responsible for the supervision and management of students on placements, off-site visits and activities where appropriate.
To maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students' learning, and to report accurately on the progress of both individuals and groups.
To proactively contribute to the success and vision of the department
To undertake programme leadership duties as specified by your line manager or the Head of Department

Education & Training

Level 5 Qualification or subject specialism in Health & Science or relevant area
A relevant teaching qualification or willingness to work towards this qualification.
GCSE 4 – 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths, or be prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability, and then, if appointed, achieve within an agreed timescale
GCSE 4 - 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in English, or be prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability, and then, if appointed, achieve within an agreed timescale

Experience

Academic or industrial or commercial experience in an area relevant to the programme.
Experience in Good teaching/training.
Experience of student pastoral care and disciplinary procedures
Experience of course leadership responsibilities.
