We have an exciting opportunity to join our Health & Safety team as a Health & Safety Advisor.

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-driven Health & Safety Advisor to join our team, playing a key role in supporting the delivery of a high-quality safety service. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a dynamic college environment, where you’ll contribute to maintaining compliance, promoting best practice, and driving continuous improvement—while developing your own expertise and making a meaningful impact on the wellbeing of staff and students alike.

Responsibilities include:

To accurately carry out data input and administrative work with a high level of professionalism, maintaining records of health and safety training, incident reports and compliance for audits.
To undertake tasks relating to the effective implementation of policies and procedures, provide expert advice and guidance whilst ensuring best practice.
To undertake additional duties that may be required commensurate with the level of responsibility of the post.
Complete DSE Assessments and implement control measures.
Review and accept Visits and Trips in accordance with College policies.
Organise Committee meetings and collect all the relevant data.
Conduct regular inspections and audits of the workplace to ensure compliance with health and safety standards, identifying hazards and then recommending measures to mitigate risks.
Analyse injuries and incident reports, identifying trends and suggesting improvements.

Education & Training

GCSE 4 – 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths, or be prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability, and then, if appointed, achieve within an agreed timescale
GCSE 4 - 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in English, or be prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability, and then, if appointed, achieve within an agreed timescale
IOSH Managing Safely is desirable but not essential

Experience

Experience working in a Health & Safety environment
Experience in an administrative/clerical role
Experience of working within an educational institution
Experience of using databases
Experience of being the first point of contact
