Overview

We are seeking a proactive Health & Safety Manager to lead the delivery of the Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) framework across our college. This role will support the achievement of college objectives by embedding a strong safety culture and driving continuous improvement.

About the role

You will provide expert guidance and shape the College’s HSE management framework, policies, and practices. You will lead audits, statutory inspections, incident investigations, and training initiatives, while representing the College in sector-wide networks and with external regulatory bodies.

Key responsibilities:

Lead the development and continuous improvement of the College’s Health & Safety (H&S) framework, ensuring alignment with statutory requirements and sector best practice.
Champion a proactive and positive H&S culture across the College, using professional expertise to influence behaviours and embed best practice.
Oversee the College’s incident reporting and investigation process, including RIDDOR compliance and implementation of corrective actions.
Design and deliver targeted training, awareness campaigns, and practical demonstrations tailored to staff, students, and contractors.
Provide expert advice and strategic guidance to the College Executive, Governing Body, and H&S Committee, including regular reporting on compliance, risk trends, and legislative changes
Support and collaborate on the college’s occupational health systems including but not limited to, monitoring of noise, dusts, vibration etc.
