About The Role

As a Skills Practitioner in Construction Trades, you will join our busy Construction department at EKC Sheppey College. You will provide Learning and Technical support to both staff and students within the Division, and undertake assessment and quality assurance duties as required by the College and awarding bodies.

Other duties will include:

Liaising with both internal and external customers/stakeholders.
Provide support and feedback to students to aid progression and achievement.
Assessing students work, both theory and practical.
Stock control including include ordering and issuing of supplies.
Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.

This is a temporary role until 28 November 2025

About You

Whether you’re newly qualified or exploring a move into education, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to apply your industry knowledge while supporting learners in a hands-on environment.

What we’re looking for:

Recent experience in the construction industry
A highly organised and efficient approach to work
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Confidence in delivering practical demonstrations and supporting in-class learning
A passion for helping learners develop and achieve their full potential

In this role, you will:

Provide practical support and guidance to learners during lessons
Deliver demonstrations to enhance understanding and engagement
Maintain a safe, efficient, and fully equipped workshop environment
Promote and uphold Health & Safety standards at all times
Manage and order materials and tools within budget
