About
I am an experienced education professional with over 15 years' experience working across secondary schools, further education, higher education and local authority services. Throughout my career I have supported students both academically and pastorally, helping them overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence and achieve their full potential.
My background includes teaching A-level Psychology, tutoring, academic and pastoral support, and working collaboratively with teaching staff, parents and external agencies to improve student outcomes. I have extensive experience building positive relationships with learners from diverse backgrounds, adapting my communication style to individual needs and creating inclusive, supportive learning environments where students feel encouraged to succeed.
Alongside my teaching experience, my role as an Education Mental Health Practitioner has strengthened my understanding of student wellbeing, safeguarding and the factors that can affect engagement, attendance and academic performance. This has enhanced my ability to provide holistic support while working effectively within multidisciplinary teams to ensure students receive the guidance and interventions they need.
I am highly organised, approachable and committed to delivering an excellent student experience. My strengths include communication, problem-solving, relationship building, case management, workshop delivery, safeguarding, and supporting students to develop independent learning skills. I am confident managing competing priorities, maintaining accurate records and working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve positive outcomes.
I hold a BSc in Psychology and Criminology, a PGCE, Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status and a Postgraduate Diploma in Low Intensity CBT for Children and Young People. I am passionate about education and committed to helping learners succeed, whether through academic guidance, pastoral support or creating opportunities that enable every student to reach their potential.
