About
I am an experienced lecturer, researcher and data analyst with a PhD in Soil Biogeochemistry and a strong background in higher education, sustainable agriculture, environmental science and student support. I have several years of overseas university teaching experience, including delivering undergraduate courses, developing curricula, assessing student work, supervising research activities and providing academic and career guidance.
My key skills include teaching and mentoring, soil and environmental research, experimental design, field and laboratory work, X-ray CT image analysis, data management and statistical analysis using Microsoft Excel, R and Python. I also have experience in technical report writing, scientific communication, curriculum development, quality assurance and coordinating educational and research activities.
My research has focused on soil fertility, soil structure, nutrient dynamics, sustainable land management, environmental contamination and climate-affected agricultural soils. I currently contribute to agricultural soil research at Rothamsted Research, including X-ray CT analysis of soil structure, greenhouse-gas monitoring and field-based research.
Throughout my career, I have successfully combined teaching, research and student development. I have supported approximately 300 students as a Student Advisor, contributed to institutional planning and curriculum development, coordinated large educational events and collaborated with researchers, academics and external partners. I am organised, adaptable and committed to using my academic and practical experience to support education, research and sustainable land management.
