My experience as an EAP Pre-Sessional Lecturer at the University of Leeds Language
Centre has equipped me with extensive skills in delivering engaging English language
teaching to diverse international cohorts. I have a proven track record in conducting
diagnostic assessments, developing individual learning plans, and providing constructive
feedback to enhance student confidence and progress. Specifically, my role involved
preparing learners for academic examinations, a skill directly transferable to preparing
apprentices for Functional Skills examinations and assessments. Furthermore, my tenure as
a Senior Lecturer involved diagnosing student barriers to learning and collaborating to
provide targeted support, ensuring learners achieve their educational goals.
I possess a strong understanding of curriculum requirements and assessment standards, as
evidenced by my CELTA certification and Advanced Language Teaching Skills Diploma. My
approach centres on creating inclusive, student-focused learning environments. I am adept
at tracking learner progress through virtual learning environments and providing timely
support to ensure successful outcomes, aligning perfectly with the responsibilities of this
role.
