Dr. Nilantha Pushpakumara Gamalathge is an experienced medical educator, clinician, and researcher with over 15 years of teaching experience in Health and Social Care, Anatomy, and Public Health at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the UK and Sri Lanka. He holds multiple postgraduate qualifications, including an MD in Chest Medicine, MSc in Cellular Pathology, MSc in Biomedical Engineering, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Psychology at the University of Greater Manchester.
His expertise spans curriculum design, quality assurance, safeguarding, mental health awareness, and student mentoring, with a strong focus on evidence-based teaching methods and student-centered learning. He has contributed to research in mental health, medical education, and community health and has authored publications including a handbook on health promotion for healthcare workers.
Dr. Gamalathge has served as Senior Lecturer and Head of Anatomy and as Chair of Medical Education Units, leading curriculum reforms and mentoring programs.
