About
I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and Coach and MBACP member, with experience providing person-centred therapeutic support alongside a strong background in education, hospitality, management and student-facing environments. I am particularly passionate about supporting young people and young adults to develop their emotional wellbeing, confidence and resilience, and I am interested in opportunities within further education where I can contribute to a supportive, inclusive and psychologically informed environment.
My counselling experience includes working with adults presenting with anxiety, low mood, stress, self-esteem difficulties and life transitions, using an integrative approach informed by Person-Centred Therapy, CBT and ACT. I place a strong emphasis on building trusting therapeutic relationships, collaborative goal-setting, safeguarding, professional boundaries, reflective practice and working within a wider support network.
Alongside my clinical training, I bring extensive experience in people management and communication. My previous roles have involved managing teams, supporting staff wellbeing, handling sensitive conversations, managing competing priorities and creating positive, inclusive environments. I am confident working collaboratively with colleagues, communicating with people from diverse backgrounds and maintaining a calm, empathetic and professional approach in challenging situations.
I am particularly keen to bring my combination of therapeutic skills, practical experience and genuine commitment to wellbeing into an FE setting, supporting students to overcome barriers, thrive academically and personally, and feel that they belong.
