Alongside my professional experience, I bring a well-developed skill set that is directly relevant to Academy-level leadership within Further Education. I have strong strategic planning and curriculum leadership capabilities, underpinned by the ability to translate high-level organisational priorities into practical, high-quality delivery. I am highly skilled in performance management, quality assurance and data-informed decision-making, using achievement data, learner feedback and staff performance indicators to drive continuous improvement. My leadership approach is collaborative and people-centred, with proven strengths in coaching, staff development and leading multidisciplinary teams through change. I possess well-established stakeholder engagement skills, having worked closely with employers, external partners, parents and community organisations to ensure provision remains responsive and relevant. In addition, my background in safeguarding leadership, SEND and inclusive practice enables me to design and oversee ESOL provision that is accessible, aspirational and compliant, while my operational experience in budget management, risk assessment and resource planning ensures sustainable, value-for-money delivery at scale.
About
I am an experienced ESOL and international education professional with a strong track record of leading high-quality provision across further education, international programmes and adult learning contexts. My career spans curriculum leadership, safeguarding and quality assurance, operational management, and classroom practice, with sustained success in improving learner outcomes, strengthening compliance, and developing inclusive, responsive learning environments.
I have led and supported diverse teaching and operational teams delivering ESOL programmes to young people and adults from a wide range of cultural, linguistic and educational backgrounds. This has included responsibility for curriculum planning, staff development, learner progression, safeguarding leadership and stakeholder engagement. I have worked extensively with international cohorts, parents, agents and external partners, ensuring provision meets regulatory requirements while remaining learner-centred and aspirational.
Alongside my teaching background, I bring significant experience in operational leadership, quality improvement and risk management. I have overseen safeguarding systems with 100% audit compliance, introduced PREVENT training across teams, improved staff retention and performance through targeted CPD, and implemented systems that increased learner engagement and reduced inefficiencies. My approach is data-informed, collaborative and improvement-focused, with a strong emphasis on inclusion, wellbeing and progression.
Throughout my career, I have remained committed to widening participation, raising aspirations and ensuring ESOL provision supports learners to progress confidently into further study, employment and active participation in society.
