About
I am a dedicated and enthusiastic Engineering Lecturer with over six years of Further Education teaching experience, delivering Level 2 to Level 6 Engineering programmes, including T Levels, BTEC, HNC/HND, and apprenticeship pathways. I hold a PGCE (14+), a BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering, an MSc in Structural Engineering, and a TAQA Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocational Achievement, providing me with a strong combination of academic knowledge, teaching expertise, and assessment practice.
Throughout my career, I have successfully delivered Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Science, Mechanical Principles, Structural Design Principles, Materials, AutoCAD, and T Level Engineering programmes. I have extensive experience designing schemes of work, lesson plans and assessments, supporting curriculum development, monitoring learner progress, providing academic and pastoral support, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives. I am passionate about creating engaging and inclusive learning environments that enable students to achieve their full potential.
In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I actively contribute to curriculum enhancement, student recruitment events, employer engagement, and cross-college quality initiatives. As an AI Champion, I support colleagues in integrating digital technologies and AI-enhanced teaching practices to improve learning outcomes. I am committed to continuous professional development and enjoy working collaboratively to drive high standards of teaching, learning, and student success.
My combination of engineering knowledge, industry awareness, teaching experience, and learner-centred approach enables me to make a positive contribution to any Engineering department. I am passionate about inspiring the next generation of engineers and supporting learners to develop the technical, practical, and professional skills required for successful careers in engineering.
