The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to become one of four specialist Sector Skills Development Leads responsible for designing the future of defence skills education.
As the specialist lead for this discipline, you will work with employers, defence organisations and industry partners to identify emerging skills requirements and translate these into innovative education and training programmes.
Working collaboratively with the other specialist leads, you will develop new curriculum, pilot training programmes, strengthen employer engagement and build the capability of existing teaching teams to deliver sustainable, industry-leading provision across the Defence Skills Hub.

- Problem Solving - You enjoy solving complex challenges, identifying future skills needs and turning ideas into practical education and training solutions. You can think strategically while remaining focused on delivering tangible outcomes.
- Collaborating - You build strong relationships with employers, colleagues and stakeholders, bringing people together to create innovative solutions. You value different perspectives and work collaboratively to achieve shared goals.
- Adapting -You thrive in environments where priorities evolve quickly. You are comfortable managing multiple projects, analysing new information and adapting your approach to meet changing industry needs.
- Delivery - You demonstrate resilience, determination and accountability. You take ownership of ambitious projects, overcome obstacles and remain committed to delivering high-quality outcomes.

How we recruit
We aim to recruit based on potential, not experience. We are interested in seeing your behaviours in action and how they will help you become successful at City College Plymouth, giving everyone the opportunity to show their potential, regardless of background or experience.
After completing our online application form, you will be asked to complete an online assessment within a few days of this Vacancy closing. This assessment asks you no questions at all. Instead, it observes your behaviour and natural strengths in action, with a series of engaging, intuitive tasks. You will receive a report outlining your behaviours once you have completed the assessment, regardless of whether you progress to the next stage or not, providing you with some feedback.
The College welcomes applications from service leavers and the Armed Forces community, and supports those service leavers who are Reservists in any of the Armed Forces.
The College reserves the right to close this advertisement early if sufficient applications have been received.
