We are looking for a Lecturer Automotive to join our team to deliver high quality teaching, learning, and assessment in motor vehicle studies (Levels 1–3 or equivalent), helping learners develop technical skills and achieve qualifications from IMI for employment or further study.
Key Responsibilities
•Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in motor vehicle subjects (e.g. maintenance, diagnostics, repair).
•Teach both theory and practical workshop sessions using industry-standard tools and equipment.
•Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and learning materials aligned with curriculum requirements.
•Adapt teaching methods to meet different learner needs and abilities.
•Assess learners’ work according to awarding body standards and provide constructive feedback.
•Monitor attendance, progress, and achievement, keeping accurate records.
•Support learners through tutorials
•Provide additional support or challenge based on student performance.
Curriculum Development
•Contribute to the design and development of motor vehicle programmes and courses.
•Keep teaching content up to date with industry developments, including new technologies (e.g. hybrid/electric vehicles).
•Participate in quality assurance processes, reviews, and standardisation activities.
•Maintain course documentation, registers, and student records.
•Attend team meetings, parent evenings, and open days.
•Work collaboratively with colleagues, employers, and external partners
•Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Motor Vehicle / Automotive Engineering.
•Relevant industry experience in the motor trade.
