The Role
You will have the chance to work with a team of people dedicated to bringing young people and adults forward in their education journey, as well as build strong connections with a subject faculty in which you will be working closely with.
The Admissions team serves as the first point of contact for a high number of our students and this job role is crucial to providing that first impression.
The daily role involves a variety of tasks including processing applications for College courses, supporting teaching staff with arranging interviews, corresponding with customers through phone, email and in person, and representing the team at events. The role involves a strong use of our student record system as well as a variety of aspects of the Google Suite.
What Will You Bring to the Role
- Adapting: Adapting to sometimes last minute changes in procedures and new tasks to be completed at different moments through the academic year and switching between a variety of tasks.
- Collaborating: Building relationships with colleagues in your department and cross-college to ensure effective processing and a stronger student experience.
- Critical Thinking: Able to apply your knowledge and draw on others’ input to understand situations, evaluate options, and adapt your approach effectively.
- Delivering: Able to see tasks through to completion, staying focused and working through challenges to get results.
Benefits
City College Plymouth will offer you;
- Career development opportunities.
- Generous contributions towards your pension.
- Free tea, coffee and lunch in our dedicated staff lounge.
How we recruit
We aim to recruit based on potential, not experience. We are interested in seeing your behaviours in action and how they will help you become successful at City College Plymouth, giving everyone the opportunity to show their potential, regardless of background or experience.
After completing our online application form, you will be asked to complete an online assessment within a few days of this Vacancy closing. This assessment asks you no questions at all. Instead, it observes your behaviour and natural strengths in action, with a series of engaging, intuitive tasks. You will receive a report outlining your behaviours once you have completed the assessment, regardless of whether you progress to the next stage or not, providing you with some feedback.
The College welcomes applications from service leavers and the Armed Forces community, and supports those service leavers who are Reservists in any of the Armed Forces.
The College reserves the right to close this advertisement early if sufficient applications have been received.
