The Position: We’re looking for a Performing Arts Lecturer – Fixed Term Maternity Cover

We are looking for a Performing Arts Lecturer (Maternity Cover) to join our dynamic department on a fixed-term basis. In this role, you’ll plan and deliver engaging lessons, lead practical workshops, support student performances, and contribute to the continued excellence of our curriculum.
You’ll teach across areas such as acting, movement, devising, voice, and industry practice—bringing your real-world experience to energise and motivate learners.
You’ll be joining a team of passionate, supportive and creative educators who are dedicated to helping students build confidence and develop their craft. We are a kind, collaborative and fun-loving department that values innovation, teamwork, and the joy of performance. Skills in media will be desirable due to our wider collaboration across departments.

What skills are we looking for:
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging, creative lessons
- Strong classroom management and facilitation skills
- Ability to lead practical workshops (acting, movement, voice, devising, etc.)
- Skill in supporting and directing student performance projects
- Ability to adapt teaching to different learner needs and levels
- Experience in acting, movement, voice, devising, or related performance practices
- Understanding of current industry standards and practices
- Ability to translate professional experience into education
Responsibilities for the role:
- Assess student work,
- provide constructive feedback, and contribute to internal verification processes
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment
