About the role
This position is to maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment across college facilities, supporting a positive experience for students, staff, and visitors. General Cleaning Duties include:
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors.
- Dust and wipe surfaces, including desks, chairs, windowsills, and doors.
- Empty bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
- Clean and disinfect toilets, sinks, and communal areas.
- Replenish consumables (toilet paper, soap, hand sanitiser, paper towels).
- Clean classrooms, lecture halls, labs, and staff rooms.
- Maintain cleanliness in communal spaces such as cafeterias, hallways, and libraries.
- Routine & Deep Cleaning.
About the person
Candidates should:
- Have good attention to detail
- The ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Be reliable and punctual.
- Have good understanding of hygiene practices.
- Have experience using cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with COSHH regulations.
- Be able to follow site-specific safety protocols.
- Report any maintenance or safety issues (e.g., broken fixtures, leaks).
