Boston College has been awarded £124,380 in Turing Scheme funding to give 60 students the opportunity to gain valuable international work experience across Europe in 2027.
The funding will support a programme of 23-day international placements in Cyprus, Italy, Spain and Malta, giving students the opportunity to experience working and living in a different country while developing their confidence, independence and employability skills.
Students from a wide range of curriculum areas will be able to take part, with opportunities spanning business, sport, digital technologies, engineering, construction, catering, hair and beauty, health and social care and childcare.
The programme will give students the chance to experience different cultures and working environments, develop skills such as communication, teamwork and adaptability, and gain valuable experience to support their future progression.
The College will now begin preparations for the trips, working with a specialist third-party partner to support the international placements. Each group of students will also be accompanied by Boston College staff during their time overseas.
The Turing programme supports Boston College’s commitment to providing students with opportunities that broaden their horizons, enhance their learning and prepare them for life beyond College.
