Chef Supervisor (Full Time) Southend Campus Monday – Friday (varying shifts) Out of term based at Thurrock campus The operation 1 student/staff refectory, 1 student/staff express style coffee shop. Chef supervisor will be responsible for the student refectory. Are you prepared to? Be first point of contact for Southend campus catering. Deliver 2 week cycle menu in student dining and oversee food quality and delivery for our dining room. Oversee all hospitality delivery at Southend campus. Support our commercial operation at Thurrock campus out of term. Work customer facing, such as serving and till operation as well as cooking back of house. To be hands on with cleaning and maintaining excellent hygiene standards. Oversee the stocking of all areas of service, including front of house. Do you have? Experience working as a chef within contract catering, restaurant, hotel, pub environment or similar. Good IT experience. Good knowledge of HACCP and food safety management to maintain elite 5 star EHO rating. Good understanding of performance management and employee appraisal, engaging a great team. Good knowledge of food production, menu development and presentation. Good understanding of stock control and ordering. Good understanding of profit and loss. UK driving licence and have use of own vehicle. Willingness if not already trained to learn barista skills Working hours (typical pattern, but subject to change) 7.30 - 16.30 - Mon - Thurs 08.00 – 14.00 - 1 on 1 off Friday Desirable qualifications but not essential Experience in an education setting Level 3 Food Safety Level 3 HACCP Level 2/3 catering qualification This job will be based in our Thurrock campus but there may be a requirement to travel around the college group ad hoc Employee benefits Employee Benefits include: • Employee Assistance Programme • College closure days • Pension - 16.2% college contribution • Continued Professional Development • Free breakfast at most campuses (term time) • Free parking subject to obtaining a parking permit • Various other benefits are available, such as subsidised eye tests, contribution to flu injections, cycle to work schemes, RAC discounts and more!
