Director of People and Culture
Salary: £48,894

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours of Work: 37 hours per week

Fareham College is seeking an outstanding senior HR professional to drive sustainable improvements in HR practices and to support the Principal and the senior leadership team in developing a workforce equipped to face the challenges ahead.

The Director of People and Culture will support the leadership team to realign our HR approaches to the future of work, identifying opportunities to incorporate contemporary working practices for the benefit of all. You will lead our talent acquisition, development and retention programmes to ensure we recruit and retain the best college workforce in the region. You will also ensure our policies, procedures and practices are robust, fair and consistently applied.

We welcome applicants with a background in any sector; you will be to able demonstrate success in a senior HR role in a complex organisation. You will be a strong leader and innovative; able to bring new ideas and see them through. You will be an associate member of the Senior Leadership Team to consult with, advise and recommend on all matters relating to our people and culture.

Fareham College offers brand new state of the art facilities comprised of workshops, teaching classrooms, learning resource centres, restaurants, a theatre, a hair & beauty salon and associated facilities. In November 2017, the College received an ‘Outstanding’ judgement in its latest Ofsted inspection, making it only one of very few recently judged outstanding college in the country. It doesn’t stop there; we were awarded FE College of Year 2018 and “Most Improved Workplace” in Britain’s Healthiest Workplace Awards 2017.  In June 2020 we received an AoC Beacon Award for Employer Engagement.
